What kind of gift do you give a man on Father’s Day (or any other day of the year for that matter)? A lawnmower, nose hair trimmer, blowtorch, back waxing (ouch)- This year we decided that the perfect gift  would be a man’s cupcake, perfect for the guy who has everything. Everything except an edible set of balls. Oh, get your mind out of the gutter; we are talking about cupcakes that are styled to look like a  set of pool ball’

I’m not going to lie, we were sliding these little suckers around like actual game balls, and we had a blast. The fact that we happened to have an actual pool table to play with them on…BONUS.

Fun Fact: Though cupcakes only last a day or two, icing stains a pool table– f o r e v e r. Sorry mom.

And on that delicious note; the cupcakes are German Chocolate, with the filling sitting snug in the center of the cupcake. Before these bad boys were covered with their cute, little, colorful….ugh, I meant macho and tough fondant toppers, each was glazed with a dark chocolate ganache.

However, since Dad is old school and likes frosting, and only frosting, on his cakes, we made another special creation just for him. Literally, Just For Him. But, it was a good travel size and he fully enjoyed it until he couldn’t get out of his chair to cut another slice.

Happy Father’s Day Daddy-O,  you always know how to make us laugh. And thank you for always letting me have my cake and eating it to (it’s led to some pretty interesting breakfast selections).
